Developing a STEAM-PBL Teaching Model for Vocational High Schools in the Context of Quality Education
Abstract
Currently, quality-oriented education has entered a new stage of development, with the goal of cultivating students’ comprehensive qualities. This study aims to construct a new teaching model based on the theories of quality-oriented education, humanistic education, and multiple intelligences, to explore the feasibility of integrating STEAM educational concepts with PBL teaching, the correspondence between the requirements of quality education and the STEAM-PBL model, and to integrate the STEAM educational philosophy with the PBL teaching model to develop a STEAM-PBL teaching model tailored to vocational secondary school curricula. The goal is to cultivate comprehensive competencies in vocational secondary school students, such as divergent thinking, teamwork skills, problem-solving abilities, digital innovation capabilities, and professional competence. This new approach seeks to provide fresh perspectives and methods for vocational secondary education, thereby achieving the goal of cultivating high-quality, application-oriented talent.
