Before You Start

Authors are encouraged to carefully review the journal’s aims and scope before submitting a manuscript to ensure that the submission aligns with the journal’s academic focus and publication objectives.

Author Responsibilities

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Arts, Humanities and Society (JAHS) are expected to:

  • Ensure the originality, accuracy, and integrity of the submitted work.
  • Confirm that the manuscript has not been published previously or submitted simultaneously to another journal.
  • Ensure that all listed authors have made significant scholarly contributions to the research.
  • Properly acknowledge all sources, citations, and contributors.
  • Respond promptly to editorial communications and revision requests.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the research or publication process.

Research involving human participants, interviews, surveys, or cultural communities must comply with relevant ethical standards and include appropriate ethical considerations where applicable.

Publication Ethics

JAHS follows internationally recognized ethical publishing standards and adheres to the principles of:

  • COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics)
  • ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors)

All submissions may be screened using plagiarism detection software prior to peer review. Manuscripts containing plagiarism, fabricated information, manipulated content, duplicate publication, or unethical research practices may be rejected.

Policy on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools

Authors may use generative AI tools for language improvement or grammar assistance; however, authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of the submitted work.

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
  • Authors must disclose any significant use of AI tools in manuscript preparation.
  • AI-generated content must be carefully reviewed and verified by the authors.

Manuscript Preparation

File Format

  • Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • The manuscript must be written in clear academic English.
  • Use Times New Roman, font size 12, with appropriate spacing and margins.

Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should generally include the following sections where applicable:

  1. Title
  2. Author Names and Affiliations
  3. Abstract
  4. Keywords
  5. Introduction
  6. Literature Review
  7. Methodology / Research Approach
  8. Results and Discussion
  9. Conclusion
  10. Acknowledgements (optional)
  11. Conflict of Interest Statement
  12. References

Abstract and Keywords

All manuscripts must include an abstract not exceeding 250 words.

Authors should provide 3–8 keywords representing the core topics of the manuscript.

Figures and Tables

  • Figures and tables must be clearly numbered and appropriately titled.
  • Images should be of high quality and submitted in standard formats such as JPEG or PNG.
  • Tables should be editable and not submitted as images.

References

References should follow the APA 7th Edition citation style.

Example Journal Article:

Smith, J., & Brown, A. (2024). Cultural transformation and digital society. Journal of Social and Cultural Studies, 12(3), 45–60.

Example Book:

Said, E. (1978). Orientalism. Pantheon Books.

Supplementary Materials

Authors may submit supplementary materials including datasets, multimedia files, interview instruments, additional documents, or supporting materials relevant to the study.

Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the official online submission system available on the journal website.

Authors should ensure that all required submission information and files are complete before final submission.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Submissions passing the initial editorial screening are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers based on originality, academic quality, methodological rigor, clarity, and relevance to the journal scope.

Editorial decisions may include:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

The peer review process typically takes approximately 4–6 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and revision requirements.

Open Access Policy

All AcademiansEdu journals follow a Gold Open Access publishing model.

All published articles are freely accessible immediately upon publication under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Article Processing Charge (APC)

AcademiansEdu applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) of $50 USD for accepted manuscripts.

The APC supports editorial management, peer review coordination, typesetting, DOI registration, online hosting, and long-term digital archiving.

No fees are charged for manuscript submission, peer review, or rejected articles.

Payment is required only after final acceptance of the manuscript.

Authors retain full copyright of their work published in JAHS.

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction provided the original work is properly cited.

Peer review process
